Rough plumbing is not really as rough as it sounds. In fact, it is merely focused on utility, rather than appearance. And sometimes that’s okay. But that’s not to say, the valves and various other plumbing required is ugly, per say. In fact, it can often provide its own sort of rustic charm. Copper piping is shiny and beautiful when new, and can provide adequate décor for some.

When choosing rough plumbing, look for quality above all else. Leaky pipes are not something you want to deal with. You can always polish up valves to a superior luster if they will be prominent in your bath.
